In the year 1923 Fridolin Winkler founded his special factory for bakery machines in
Villingen in the Black Forest. Only one year later he developed
the first fully automatic roll dividing- and round moulding machine “Derby”. In the following years the company achieved by uncountable innovations and further developments a world-wide reputation as an expert in the bakery branch.
In the year 2000 the company Winkler GmbH & Co. KG had to declare insolvency.
As of 1st June 2001 the Horstmann-Group founded the Winkler Bakery Technology GmbH (WINKLER Bäckereitechnik GmbH) and took over the existing rights as well as the know-how of the old Winkler GmbH & Co. KG. With this step it could be guaranteed that for the machines and lines can be offered continuous developments and optimisations and that the know-how which was created in the past decades will be kept in this traditional company.
